Section 3(1) in The Indian Medical Council, Rules, 1957
(1)The President shall, not later than ninety days before the date of occurrence of vacancy by the expiry of the term of office of a member, send intimation thereof to the Central Government who shall, not later than sixty days before the date of occurrence of the vacancy, forward a notice by registered post to the Registrar of the University concerned requesting him to hold an election by a date not later than the date specified in the notice.
