(2)This Act shall apply to all new irrigation works, their ayacuts and to all other irrigation works of ayacuts of two thousand acres or more and their ayacuts:Provided that notwithstanding the provisions contained in this Act, the Government may, by notification exclude any local area or irrigation work or class of irrigation works from the operation of the whole or any of the provisions of this Act, from the date as may be specified by the notification in the Official Gazette.
