Section 24(1) in Gujarat Panchayats (Second Amendment) Act, 1963
(1)in sub-section (2) for the proviso the following shall be substituted;-"Provided that-(a)where the Sarpanch and Upa-Sarpanch both are members of any such Committee, the Sarpanch shall be the ex-officio Chairman of such committee and if he declines to hold the office the Upa-Sarpanch shall be the ex-officio Chairman of the committee, unless he also declines to hold the office, and(b)where only one of them is a member thereof he shall be the ex-officio Chairman of the Committee unless he declines to hold the office."
