146. [ Prisoners not to be employed on private work. [Part II, Rule 87. See Paras 708 and 709.]
- No officer of any Jail shall, save as authorised by any provision of any rule hereinafter contained in that behalf, at any time employ any prisoner on his own private work or for his own gain or profit; nor shall any such officer at any time employ any prisoner otherwise than for the profit and advantage of the Government and in strict accordance with the provisions of the Prisons Act, 1894, and the rules made thereunder, relating to the employment of prisoners.]
