Section 26(a) in First Statutes of the Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy, 2018
(a)The honorary officers, members of the Council, members of Committees or Sub-Committees, Director, auditors and other senior staff of the Institute may be indemnified out of the funds of the Institute against any expenses or liability incurred by them in or about the discharge of their respective duties;
