8. Age.
- A candidate for direct recruitment must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of 27 years on July 1 of the year in which recruitment is to be made in the case of Typist and in the case of other posts on the first day of January if the posts are advertised between January 1 and June 30 and on the first day of July, if the posts are advertised between July 1 and December 31:Provided that the upper age limit shall in the case of candidates of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and such other categories as may be notified by the Government from time to time be greater by such number of years as may be specified.Note. - Copies of the orders of the Government regarding relaxation of age are given in Appendix 'B'.
