Section 9(1) in West Bengal Industrial Disputes Rules, 1958
(1)The Conciliation Officer on receipt of a notice of strike or lockout given in the prescribed manner, shall forthwith arrange to interview or contract both representatives of the employer and the workmen concerned with the dispute at such places and at such times as he may deem fit and shall endeavour to bring about a settlement of the dispute in question.
