Through the instant civil writ petition, preferred under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, petitioner has sought the issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents to release the retiral benefits including pensionary benefits, commuted pension, gratuity, leave encashment, provident fund under the revised pay scales, arrears on account of revision of pay scale w.e.f. January 01, 2006 under the Fifth Punjab Pay Commission and other admissible benefits in the revised pay scales with interest @ 18% per annum.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that though the petitioner stood retired on June 30, 2017 on attaining the age of superannuation, even after a lapse of more than three months, his retiral benefits including pension, commuted pension, gratuity, leave encashment, have not been released/disbursed by the respondent. issued to respondent No.4 to decide his representation dated July 25, 2017 (P-2) within some specified period.

Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondents No.4 to look into the grievances unfolded by the petitioner in his representation dated July 25, 2017 (P-2) and to take an appropriate action, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.

4. However, if petitioner still feels aggrieved by any of the order(s) passed by the aforesaid authority, he shall be at liberty to approach this Court.
