Section 25(1) in Assam General Sales Tax Act, 1993
(1)When any tax, interest, penalty or any other sum is payable in consequence of any order passed under this Act the Assessing Officer shall serve upon the dealer or person liable to pay such tax, interest, penalty, or other sum a notice of demand in the prescribed form specifying the amount or amounts so payable.
