Section 15(1) in Tamil Nadu Hackney Carriage Act, 1911
(1)Upon the registration of any hackney carriage, the [Deputy Commissioner] [Substituted for the word 'Commissioner' by section 2 of the Tamil Nadu Hackney Carriage (Amendment) Act, 1964 (Tamil Nadu Act 21 of 1964).] shall cause to be painted on some conspicuous part of the carriage or on a plate to be affixed on some conspicuous part of the carriage its number in the register [and -(i)in the case of any hackney carriage other than a hand-cart, the number of passengers such carriage is licensed to carry;(ii)in the case of any hand-cart, the maximum laden weight such handcart is licensed to carry.]
