3. Competent authority.
- The Government shall, for the purposes of this Act, by notification in the Official Gazette, notify one or more officers to be the competent authorities and specify the local limits of their jurisdiction in such notification. The competent authority shall exercise such powers and perform such functions as are provided under this Act and as may be prescribed.
