Section 231 in Gauhati Municipal Corporation Act, 1971
231. Cleaning drains.
(1)The Municipal drains shall be so constructed, maintained and kept as to keep the drains free from public nuisance and shall from time to time be properly flushed, cleaned and emptied.(2)For the purpose of flushing, cleaning and employing the said drains, the Commissioner may construct or set up such reservoirs, sluices engines and other works, as he shall from time to time deem necessary.
