                                                 O R D E R

This special leave petition arises out of the order dated 02.05.2025 passed by the High Court of Karnataka at Kalaburagi in Criminal Petition No. 200434/2025. By the said order, the High Court held that the petitioner, R.D. Patil @ Rudragouda, was not entitled to grant of bail on medical grounds but directed that Signature Not Verified suitable medical facilities should be provided to him by the jail Digitally signed by babita pandey Date: 2026.01.17 14:15:41 IST Reason: authorities.

1 During the pendency of this special leave petition, the petitioner was granted interim bail on some other ground but, on 30.07.2025, upon perusal of the petitioner’s medical report, this Court opined that he was not entitled to grant of bail on medical grounds.

Significantly, the petitioner had earlier approached the High Court for grant of regular bail by way of Criminal Petition No. 200969/2024 and upon its dismissal, vide order dated 31.08.2024, he had approached this Court by way of SLP(Crl.) No. 13272/2024. The said special leave petition was dismissed as withdrawn on 09.01.2025, granting liberty to the petitioner to renew his request after a period of one year.

In the light of the aforestated circumstances, as this Court has already held that the petitioner is not entitled to grant of bail on medical grounds and the period of one year stipulated in the earlier order dated 09.01.2025 has already expired, it would be appropriate that the petitioner approaches the appropriate forum, rather than this Court, for grant of regular/interim bail.

Leaving it open to the petitioner to do so, the special leave petition is disposed of. Any such application, if and when filed, may be considered expeditiously on its own merits and in accordance with law.

Pending application(s), if any, shall stand disposed of.
