Section 188(2)(c) in The Naval Ceremonial, Conditions Of Service And Miscellaneous Regulations, 1964

(c)
(i)have served for not less than six years since being rated Acting Artificer 4th class, of which at least 31h years must have been in a sea-going ship and/or a Naval Air Station;
(ii)have served for not less than two years in a sea-going ship and/or a Naval Air Station after completing the Mechanician course;
