(1)The Gujarat Lokayukta Act, 1986,(Guj. 31 of 1986.) is hereby repealed.(2)All proceedings in which inquiry or investigation has been initiated under section 10 (1) of the repealed Act and is pending before the Lokayukta under the repealed Act shall be continued by the Lokayukta Aayog in accordance with provisions contained in this Act.(3)Any appointment of Lokayukta under repealed Act shall be deemed to be an appointment of a Lokayukta appointed under section 3(1) of this Act.(4)Nothing contained in this Act shall be construed as affecting the constitution of, or the continuance of functioning or exercise of powers by any Commission of Inquiry appointed under the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1952,(60 of 1952.) before the commencement of this Act and no complaint shall be made under this Act in respect of any matter referred for inquiry to such Commission before such commencement.
