(1)Civil prisoner- Subject to the provision of section 34 of the Act, a civil prisoner may work or follow his own or any other trade or profession for his own benefit: provided that, the work (including gardening, if practicable) is approved by the officer in charge of the civil prison, and does not entail any expense to Government. The product of gardening shall be at the disposal of the prisoner.
