Section 233(a) in The U.P. Kshettra Panchayats And Zila Panchayats Adhiniyam, 1961
(a)all members of the Zila Panchayat including the Adhyaksha shall, on a date to be specified in the order, vacate their offices as such but without prejudice to their [eligibility for being elected as a member or as an Adhyaksha] [Substituted by U.P. Act No. 9 of 1994.], under this Act;
