(1)Nowithstanding any vacancy in the membership of the Gram Panchayat , the Prescribed Authority shall, immediately after but before the expiration of thirty days from the date of publication of notification under section 18 appoint a date for the meeting of the Gram Panchayat members (which meeting shall be called the first meeting of the Gram Panchayat) for electing the Sabhapati,Up-Sabhapati and Sachiva of the Gram Panchayat from amongst themselves.(2)The meeting to be held under sub-section (1) shall be convened by the Prescribed Authority in such manner as may be prescribed.
