Section 165(4) in The Coal Mines Regulations, 2011

(4)The auxiliary fans shall be installed, as forcing fan, on the intake side of the place to be ventilated by it:Provided that no auxiliary fan shall be installed at a point within or less than 4.5 m from the nearer side of the entrance to the place to be ventilated by it.
