133. Collector executing decree may grant defaulter time to pay.
- The Collector, (a) in executing a decree for arrears in a suit under this Act or (b) on- the application of the defaulter whose holding is to be sold under the provisions of this Chapter, may, before issuing an order for the sale of the holding or part thereof and on the defaulter's giving security for the amount of the debt with costs and interest to the satisfaction of the Collector, allow the defaulter time in which to pay the amount due, provided that any period or the aggregate of any periods so allowed shall not exceed two months unless the State Government by general or special order allow a longer period.
