Section 16(2)(a) in The U.P. Information Service Rules, 1982

(a)Deputy Director.-Recruitment by promotion to the post of Deputy Director shall be made on the basis of seniority subject to the rejection of unfit through the Departmental Selection Committee constituted as under :

(i)the Secretary, Personnel Department;

(ii)the Secretary, Information Department; and

(iii)the Director.
