Section 4(8) in The North Bengal University Act, 1981
(8)to take over for a period of twelve months the management of any affiliated, constituent or professional college or institution or centre other than a Government College or institution in order to ensure that proper standard of teaching, training or instruction is maintained therein:Provided that the University may, if it considers necessary so to do, extend such period so, however, that the aggregate period shall not exceed eighteen months;
