- The authorities for the purposes of clause (c) of sub-section (1) of section 12 shall be-(i)any passport authority;(ii)any officer of Police not below the rank of a Sub-Inspector; and(iii)any officer of Customs empowered by general or special order of Central Government in this behalf.
