Section 42A(3) in Jammu and Kashmir Panchayati Raj Act, 1989
(3)A candidate shall not be deemed to be duly nominated for election from a Panchayat Constituency or Block Development Council unless he deposits or causes to be deposited such amount of security, as may be prescribed, for election of Panch, Sarpanch or Chairman Block Development Council as the case may be :Provided that in the case of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled tribe or women candidates, the amount of security deposit shall be 50% of the deposit so prescribed.
