Section 14 in The Orissa Forest Contract Rules, 1966
14. Extraction along Forest Roads.
(1)The method employed by the forest contractor for extraction of forest produce along forest roads shall be subject to the approval of the Divisional Forest Officer. The forest contractor shall not, without the previous permission in writing of the Divisional Forest Officer cart any produce over forest roads between such periods as the Divisional Forest Officer may appoint. At the discretion of the Divisional Forest Officer the forest roads are liable to be closed for extraction of forest produce on any rainy days and for three days thereafter during the rest of the year. The Divisional Forest Officer may also close roads temporarily for urgent or special repairs should these in his opinion become necessary.(2)The forest contractor shall not extract forest produce by dragging along forest roads.
