(2)Provision in case of dispute as to the amount to be paid. - If such landholder or superior tenant and any person holding lands directly from him cannot agree as to the amount which such person shall pay, such landholder or superior tenant may serve person through the Collector, with a notice setting forth the amount which the claims, and requiring such person, within one month after the service of notice, to pay the amount claimed or enter into an engagement for the payment thereof by instalments extending over a period of not more than ten years, or appear before the Collector and object.
