Section 7(b) in Prevention Of Collision On National Waterways Regulations, 2002
(b)In determining if risk of collision exists the following consideration shall be among those taken into account,(i)Such risk shall be deemed to exist if a compass bearing of an approaching vessel does not appreciably change and apparent distance from own vessel decreases;(ii)Such risk may sometimes exist even when an appreciable bearing change is evident, particularly when approaching a very large vessel or a tow or when approcahing a vessel at close range; and(iii)For vessel not fitted with a compass, if the relative position remains unchanged.
