ANOOP CHITKARA, J. (ORAL)

The present petition has been filed under Section 439 Cr.P.C for grant of regular bail to the petitioner in case FIR No.245 dated 01.10.2019 registered under Sections 302/332/333/353/186/379-B (2)/120B/148/149 IPC; 25/27 of Arms Act and 21/27/29 of NDPS Act at Police Station Jandiala, Amritsar Rural.

Status report dated 08.11.2022 is taken on record.

Counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for more than 03 years and trial is hanging fire because of Covid implications and workload. Even in this Court, his bail is pending since long and because of time constraints, it is not being taken up.

Constrained with this fact, counsel for the petitioner submits that he would be contended and satisfied in case trial be expedited.

Given the entirety of facts and circumstances, the prayer is genuine and consequently, this Court requests the trial Court to take up the case on top priority and try to complete it on or before 31.03.2023.

It is clarified that the petitioner shall not seek any adjournment and in case, he seeks adjournment, this order shall stand recalled automatically without any further reference to this Court.

The present petition stands disposed of.
