Information sought:
1. What are the Rules and procedure for Promotion and Departmental Examination relating to MTS cadre in the Income Tax Department if any and provide a copy thereof.
2. Is there a requirement of minimum number of years of service for promotion to next subsequent post and if yes, then how many years and on what basis.
3. The next subsequent post to which a MTS can be promoted upon fulfilling the qualifications determined by the Board and its pay scale and Grade pay.
4. When MTS is a Group C post then why its Grade Pay is 1800 and is it corresponding to minimum Grade Pay of Group C posts as fixed by 6th Pay Commission.

The CPIO has not provided the desired information.
