(2)No prosecution shall be instituted against a Home Guard in respect of anything done or purporting to be done by him in the discharge of his duty as a Home Guard, except with the previous sanction of the [State Government] [Substituted by the adaptation of Laws Order, 1950 for 'Provincial Government'.] or some officer empowered by the [State Government] [Substituted by the adaptation of Laws Order, 1950 for 'Provincial Government'.] in this behalf.
