Section 5(1) in The Maharashtra Council of Indian Medicine (Election) Rules, 1967
(1)A general election to the [Council] [Substituted by G.N. of 21.3.1985.] shall be held for constituting a new [Council] [Substituted by G.N. of 21.3.1985.] on the expiration of the term of office of the members of the existing [Council] [Substituted by G.N. of 21.3.1985.] or otherwise under the provisions of the Act.
