Background
1. The Aapplicant filed an RTI application dt.8.5.09 with the CPIO, Prasar Bharati, Purnea stating that he had applied for the post of technician in Prasar Bharati, Purnea in response to an advertisement and that he has not been called for the interview. He added that in this connection, he had also sent a copy of his application to Dy. Director (A) and requested that he be called for interview at the earliest. The CPIO replied on 27.5.09 stating that as per the guidelines of the AIR Directorate minimum educational/technical qualifications for the post of technician is 2 years ITI / diploma in electronics/communication. Not satisfied with the reply, the Applicant filed a complaint dt.5.7.09 before CIC requesting the Commission to give directions to CPIO to call him (the Applicant) for the interview at the earliest..
2. The Bench of Mrs. Annapurna Dixit, Information Commissioner, scheduled the hearing for August 27, 2009.
3. Both the applicant and the respondent were not present during the hearing.
The Commission received a letter dt.25.8.09 from CPIO, Doordarshan, Bhagalpur stating that as he is holding additional charge of O/o Station Engineer, Doordarshan Maintenance Centre, Purnea which is 120 km away from Doordarshan Maintenance Centre, Bhagalpur and not connected by rail, it will not be possible for him to be present at the hearing. Decision
5. The Commission after reviewing the documents provided rejects the complaint since no information has been sought by the Appellant and also since the relief he is seeking is beyond the purview of the RTI Act.
