Section 5(2) in The Indian Forest Service (Pay) Rules, 2016
(2)The pay in case of promotion of a member of Service, in the Junior Scale to a post in the Senior Time Scale, in the revised pay structure shall be made in the following manner:-One increment shall be given in the Level 10 of the Pay Matrix from which the Member of service is promoted and he shall be placed at a Cell equal to the figure so arrived at in the Level 11 of the Pay Matrix corresponding to the Senior Time Scale of the post to which promoted and if no such Cell is available in the Level to which promoted, he shall be placed at the next higher Cell in that Level.
