Section 775 in Police Regulations, Bengal , 1943

775. Scale of pay and special pay.

(a)The scale of pay and special pay of officers of the Indian Police is shown in the "Gradation list of police officers in Bengal."
(b)The scales of pay and special pay of officers of the Bengal Police Service and members of the subordinate ranks of the police force and of the clerical and other establishments are shown in the "Manual of Pays of Provincial and Subordinate Services," issued by the Government of Bengal, Finance Department.
(c)For Sub-Inspectors employed in the Finger Print Bureau, there are special rates of pay as under :-
(i)Lower scale. - The same as the ordinary scale of pay for Sub-Inspectors.
(ii)Higher scale - Rs. 200-25/2-300.
No officer will be eligible for promotion to the higher scale unless he has completed a total period of 12 years' service in the Bureau (whether continuous or not) and has also completed 20 years' total service as Sub-Inspector (excluding the period spent on training). If any officer reverts to district work at his own request or is required to do so for other reasons, he shall on reversion draw the pay of a Sub-Inspector in the ordinary scale according to the length of his service in the department including the period spent in the Finger Print Bureau.NOTE. - Officers joining the Finger Print Bureau will as a rule be directly recruited Sub-Inspectors.
