Section 2(3)(g) in The Karnataka State Civil Services (Regulation of Transfer of Staff of Department of Technical Education) Act, 2012

(g)"Principal" means a person appointed to a category of post of a Principal in the Government Engineering Colleges, Principal Grade-I or Grade-II in Government Polytechnic or equivalent post of Deputy Director/Assistant Director in the Directorate of Technical Education, principal in Government Junior Technical School belonging to the State Civil Services and such other equivalent posts as specified in the Schedule.
