Section 12(1) in Tamil Nadu Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Rules, 2017
(1)If a child in conflict with law, runs away from a child care institution, the following action shall be taken within twenty-four hours, namely.-(i)the Officer-in-charge of the child care institution shall immediately send a report to the area Police Station or Special Juvenile Police Unit or Child Welfare Police Officer along with the details and description of the child, the identification marks and a photograph, with a copy marked to the Board or the Children's court as well as to the Director of Social Defence;(ii)the parents or guardians shall be informed immediately;(iii)the Officer-in-charge of the child care institution shall hold an inquiry and send his report to the Board, the Children's court as well as to the Director of Social Defence. The details of the child shall also be uploaded on the Track Child portal.
