Mr. Speaker Made References To The Passing Away Of Sarvashri Baldev Singh ... on 23 December, 2008

> Title: Mr. Speaker made references to the passing away of Sarvashri Baldev Singh Jasrotia, member 6th Lok Sabha and Shri Ashfaq Hussain, members 7th Lok Sabha on 25.08.2008 and 20.12.2008, respectively.   MR. SPEAKER: Hon. Members, I have to inform the House of the sad demise of two of our former colleagues, Shri Baldev Singh Jasrotia and Shri Ashfaq Husain. Shri Baldev Singh Jasrotia was a Member of the Sixth Lok Sabha from 1977 to 1979, representing the Jammu Parliamentary Constituencyof Jammu & Kashmir. An advocate by profession, Shri Jasrotia strove for bringing parity in the socio-economic and political status of the people and worked for the welfare of the poor, downtrodden disabled and the deprived sections of the society. Shri Baldev Singh Jasrotia passed away on 25 August, 2008 at Kathua, Jammu & Kashmir at the age of 89. Shri Ashfaq Husain was a Member of the Seventh Lok Sabha from 1980 to 1984, representingthe Maharajganj Parliamentary Constituency of Uttar Pradesh. Shri Husain was a member of the Committee on Subordinate Legislation during the Seventh Lok Sabha. An agriculturalist by profession, Shri Husain started his political career at the grass-root level. He was a Member, Executive Committee, Gorakhpur Zila Parishad from 1974 to 1978. He was the Secretary, Indo-Soviet Friendship Association and a Member of the Executive Committee of the State Indo-Soviet Cultural Society. Shri Husain strove for the welfare of the deprived and backward sections of the society particularly the craftsmen and weavers. He was a Member of the first Backward Classes Commission constituted in the State of Uttar Pradesh. Shri Ashfaq Husain passed away on 20 December, 2008 at Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh at the age of 74. We deeply mourn the loss of these friends and I am sure the House would join me in conveying our condolences to the bereaved families.
