Section 15(1)(e) in The M.P. Cattle Diseases Rules, 1961

(e)For the purpose of identification of the inoculated cattle, the Veterinary Officer shall cause the cattle to be branded, free of charge, on the near hindquarter by letters O/S/N/Q/ (Rinderpest/ Haemorrhagic Septicaemia/Anthrax/ Blackquarter) followed by the list digit of the calendar year in which the marking is done.
