Section 24(x) in The Statutes of the Punjabi University
(x)A teacher granted study leave shall on his return and rejoining the service of the University be eligible to the benefit of the annual increment(s) which he would have earned in the course of time if he had not proceeded on study leave. No teacher shall, however, be eligible to receive arrears of increments.
