- Where under this Act or a notice issued thereunder the public or any person is required to do or to refrain from doing anything, a person who fails to comply with such requisition shall be liable on conviction by a Magistrate to a fine not exceeding five hundred rupees for every such failure and, in the case of a continuing breach, to a further fine which may extend to five rupees for every day after the date of the first conviction during which the offender is proved to have persisted in the breach.
