Section 38A(6) in The City of Nagpur Corporation Act, 1948
(6)In the event of the office of the Chairperson falling vacant before the expiry of its term, the Wards Committee shall elect a new Chairperson :Provided that, the Chairperson so elected shall hold office so long only as the Chairperson in whose place he is elected would have held office if such vacancy had not occurred.
