ORDER
1. The grievance in the present letter petition sent by Mr. Gopal Chinna Mudalyar Chavady, Kottakuppam Vannur talk, District Villupuram, a resident of small fishing village, is against violation of Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) Notification in their village as within area of 10 meters so many private beach hotels are running, new building construction is going on and so many lands have been purchased for private hotels and guest houses.
2. In view of the grievances made in the application, we are of the view that the factual position needs to be verified and remedial action is required to be taken on the basis thereof in case of violation of environmental norms. We accordingly constitute Joint Committee of Regional Office of MoEF, Chennai, Tamil Nadu Coastal Zone Management Authority (TNCZMA), State PCB and Collector, Villupuram and direct the Joint Committee to meet within four weeks, undertake site visits, look into the grievances of the applicant, verify the factual position and take requisite action by following due process of law. The State PCB will be the Nodal agency for coordination O. A. No. 473/2022 Gopal Chinna Mudalyar Chavady Vs. State of Tamil Nadu -2- and compliance. Factual and action taken report may be furnished within three months by e-mail at [email protected] preferably in the form of searchable PDF/OCR Support PDF and not in the form of Image PDF.
