Section 7(12) in The Maharashtra Local Authority Members Disqualification Rules, 1987
(12)The Commissioner or, as the case may be, the Collector, shall, if the councillor or, as the case may be, the member, fails to appear within the specified time or refuses or admits to plead, produce the evidence by which he proposes to disprove article of charge, adjourn the case to a later date not exceeding thirty days, after recording an order that the councillor or, as the case may be, the member, may for the purposes of preparing his defence, -(i)inspect within five days of the order or within such further time not exceeding five days as the Commissioner or, as the case may be, the Collector, may allow, the documents specified in the list referred to in sub-rule (6) of this rule;(ii)submit a list of witnesses to be examined on his behalf.
