(8)For the purpose of making any investigation under this Act, the Chief Justice of the High Court of Karnataka or the Judge of the High Court nominated by him shall have the powers of the civil court, while trying a suit, under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908, in respect of the following matters, viz.,:(a)summoning and enforcing the attendance of any person and examining him on oath;(b)requiring the discovery and production of documents;(c)receiving evidence on oath;(d)issuing commissions for the examination of witnesses or documents.
