Section 9(1)(g) in The Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005

(g)to get the aggrieved person medically examined, if she has sustained bodily injuries and forward a copy of the medical report to the police station and the Magistrate having jurisdiction in the area where the domestic violence is alleged to have been taken place;
