Section 59A in The Maharashtra Medical Council Rules, 1967
59A. [ Removal of name from register on the practitioners' request. [Inserted by G.N. of 5.10.1977.]
(1)A Registered Medical Practitioner may himself make an application for the removal of his name from the register. The application shall be accompanied by a declaration made by the applicant that no proceedings for the purposes of section 22 of the Act, are pending against him or that he is not aware of any proceedings or of any reason for the institution of any proceedings which might result in the removal of his name from the register or in depriving him of qualification entitling him to be registered.(2)Every such application shall, in the first instance, be referred by the Registrar to the authorities who granted the applicant his qualification or qualifications to ascertain whether there is any valid objection to such removal.(3)The Registrar shall bring such application before the next meeting of the Council or Executive Committee, which will consider the application and any objections thereto, and the President may put from the chair the questions;Whether the Registrar shall remove the applicant's name from the register?(4)If the Council or the Executive Committee, as the case may be, grants the application, the Registrar shall remove the applicant's name from the register and send notice of such removal to the applicant by a registered letter addressed to his registered address.]
