(1)The Medical Officer shall, in the event of the appearance of epidemic disease of any kind among the prisoners or officers of the jail, be responsible that all measures and precautions which may be necessary or expedient to meet the emergency and prevent the spread of the disease are promptly taken, and that the rules and orders regulating such matters are fully enforced.
