Section 7(1) in Kerala Promotion of Tree Growth in Non-Forest Areas Act, 2005
(1)Whoever cuts, uproots, burns or otherwise destroys any tree other than sandalwood in violation of the provisions of this Act or transports any timber contravening the provisions of the section 6 or files a false declaration shall, on conviction be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with fine which may extend to twenty five thousand rupees:
