Section 15 in The Punjab Right to Service Act, 2011
15. Term of office and conditions of service of Chief Commissioner and Commissioners.
(1)The Chief Commissioner and the Commissioners shall hold office for a term of five years from the date on which they enter upon the respective offices, or until they attain the age of sixty-five years, whichever is earlier and they will not be entitled for reappointment.(2)If a person already holding an office appointed as the Chief Commissioner or Commissioner, he shall have to resign or seek retirement from that office before joining the Commission.(3)The Chief Commissioner or a Commissioner shall, before he enters upon his office, make and subscribe to, before the Governor or some other person appointed by him in that behalf, an oath or affirmation according to the form set out for the purpose in the Schedule.(4)The Chief Commissioner or a Commissioner may, at any time, by writing under his hand addressed to the Governor, resign from his office. He would also be liable for removal from the office in the manner provided under section 16.(5)The salaries and allowances payable to and other terms and conditions of service of the Chief Commissioner and the Commissioners shall be the same as those of the State Chief Information Commissioner and the State Information Commissioners respectively as laid down in sub-section (5) of section 16 of the Right to Information Act, 2005. All provision of the aforesaid sub-section shall apply mutatis mutandis to the Chief Commissioner and the Commissioners appointed under this Act.(6)The State Government shall provide the Commission with such officers and employees as may be necessary for the efficient performance of the Commission under this Act. The salaries, allowances and conditions of service of the officers and other employees so appointed shall be such as may be prescribed.
