Section 1 in The Punjab Prohibition of Cow Slaughter Act, 1955
1. Short title, extent and commencement.
(1)This Act may be called the Punjab Prohibition of Cow Slaughter Act, 1955.(2)It extends to the whole of the State of Haryana.(3)It shall come into force [in the principal territories and on 29th January, 1959 in the transferred territories] [Haryana Adaptation Law Order 1968.].
